Hudson Valley Garlic Festival

|
 |
Tons of freshly harvested, cold hardy garlic . . . stock up, for months
of tasty, healthy, garlic-enhanced meals. In 2007, we were delighted
to have on hand more than 123 garlic marketplace vendors
-- and they offered the widest variety of garlic in every form imaginable.
The Garlic Marketplace is by far the most popular destination for
the typical festivalgoer. Why? They have literally tons of seed stock,
bulbs, braids, wreaths, and on and on to choose from. And the variety!
There are tastings available, with varieties including:
- Brown Tempest
- Chesnok Red
- Continental
- Danube Rose
- Elephant
- Elmer's Topset
- French Red
- Georgian Crystal
- Georgian Fire
- German
- German Porcelain
- German Red

- Russian

- Siberian Red
- Sicilian Gold
- Silver Rose

In addition to the garlic growers, the Garlic Marketplace features
products made with garlic. Many festivalgoers delight in finding just
the right pickles, honey, pesto, jellies, jams, herb blends, oils,
coffees, teas, spices, dip mixes, horseradish, mustards, cheese spreads,
nuts, maple syrup, chiles, marinades, sauces, butters, sausages, smoked
meats, tarts, crackers, rubs, soup mixes and even garlic biscotti,
fudge, chocolates, toffees, and soap. And there are useful accessories
like containers, flippers, towels, cookbooks, soup mixes, peelers,
presses and keepers.
If you're an old pro and have attended a number of Hudson Valley
Garlic Festivals, you've probably begun to be familiar with those
names, and have a favorite or two or . . .
If you've never been to the festival, you've got to come and sample
some of the varieties of the world's tastiest and freshest garlic
grown. And you don't have to worry about your breath. The days of
the festival, you're able to sample all the garlic you want . . .
you're in the company of tens of thousands of fellow garlic lovers
and are therefore completely "breath anyonymous".
